What you’re thinking is what you’re becoming. ~ Muhammad Ali

This quotation by the late Muhammad Ali helps us realize the impact that our thoughts have on our well-being. I understand that our past experiences tend to spill over into our present thoughts, actions, and emotions; this is why I diligently collaborate with clients along their pursuit to gain self-awareness.

I recognize that we all have great potential and, as such, I include a strength-based approach to help clients recognize their true strengths. I strive to create a welcoming and open-minded space so clients can feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable while exploring their concerns, relationships, and identities.

My education focused on the connectedness among developmental, social, relational, and cultural factors. I also have experience working with a diverse population of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. I specialize in working with clients dealing with issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, domestic violence, behavioral concerns, and autism, as well as sexual identity and gender identity concerns. I have also worked with clients from a myriad of racial and ethnic backgrounds but have focused experience working with Black, Native American, and Asian clients striving to work through race-related stress and racial-identity concerns. Overall, I recognize that our experiences are intricately connected with our mental health and successful daily functioning; as such, I approach therapy through a multicultural lens, understanding that culture is a complex reality comprised of the intersectionality of factors such as race/ethnicity, family, education, gender, age, and education.
