Amanda Kubiak, MA, MLP, CAADC

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Making a decision to reach out for help can be difficult and uncomfortable. That is why I work to build an empathetic, non-judgmental, and trusting work relationship with my clients to help propel them toward positive change and growth. I have a down-to-earth nature and enjoy incorporating my sense of humor into sessions to create an inviting and safe atmosphere where my clients feel free to share their true thoughts and feelings. I believe when this happens, real healing can begin, and transformations can be made.

I received my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Western Michigan University in 2016 and my CAADC in 2020. I have spent a considerable amount of time working with individuals in active addiction and recovery in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. I have also worked with anxiety, depression, anger management, domestic violence, self-esteem issues, life transitions, stress, and suicidality, among many other issues. Knowing that no single therapeutic approach is right for everyone, I believe it is important to use what method might work best for each individual client. I feel it is crucial to help clients find healthy ways to cope with life’s many struggles and help them navigate through these. I want to work to understand clients’ viewpoints and concerns in order to validate their experience, help them build a sense of control, and encourage them to move toward achieving goals that are important and relevant to each individual.

I am a Master’s Limited Psychologist (MLP) in the state of Michigan. I am also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) in the state of Michigan with extensive experience working with individuals in active addiction and recovery. As an MLP, I receive ongoing supervision from a fully licensed psychologist, Julie Meredith Davis, Ph.D., LP.
