Pronouns: he/him/his

My goal is to create a safe, calm, and laid-back environment to help clients explore the contributing factors to their struggles and identify strategies and techniques to improve their lives. Finding relief from current struggles as soon as possible is a priority, while understanding that there are many factors that contribute to an individual’s experience in the world including events of the past, relationships throughout a lifetime, and present circumstances. I work with clients to examine these factors in a meaningful way to empower them to have a positive impact on their own lives.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I have over 20 years’ experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of mental health concerns including those related to special education needs and behavioral disorders. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for Grand Rapids Public Schools in the special education program with students labeled “emotionally impaired.” I have spent years working with individuals within a variety of settings including outpatient/office services, in-home, and in-school services. I also work with diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and contextual and situational factors that impact the overall functioning of youth. I am experienced in working with adults struggling with substance use, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and interpersonal/relational concerns. Also, I have worked extensively with a variety of cultures and ethnicities including African Americans, Native Americans, and those of Hispanic and Asian backgrounds. I consider myself an ally of the LGBTQA+ community.

I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology at Western Michigan University. I am a licensed Master’s Limited Psychologist (MLP) in the State of Michigan. I receive ongoing supervision from a fully licensed psychologist, Julie Meredith Davis, Ph.D., LP.

To schedule an appointment please call the main office at 269-459-1818. I am currently seeing clients both in-person and via telehealth.
