I believe that therapy is a relationship. My goal for each client is to build an alliance where their thoughts, feelings, and actions can be addressed in a safe space. Creating an inclusive and non-judgmental atmosphere is necessary when examining how past events and experiences influence each person’s day-to-day life.

My therapeutic interests lie in helping people navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment difficulties. I use a primarily cognitive approach when working with clients, and I tailor interventions to each person’s needs. I have received training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I enjoy working with clients from the ages of 12 and up.

I also offer testing services. I specialize in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) assessments, learning disorder evaluations, and general diagnostic clarification. My goal when working with testing clients is to make the process as straight-forward as possible. I enjoy the testing process, and I view it as a means to help clients find answers they have been looking for.

I began working in the mental health field in 2008 after I finished my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Grand Valley State University in 2007. I was a psychiatric technician at an inpatient hospital from 2008 until 2017. I worked with children, teenagers, and adults in that role. That experience is what led me to pursuing my education and training to become a therapist.

I have been a Master’s Limited Psychologist since 2017 when I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. I worked as a case manager/therapist for the inpatient psychiatric hospital until I joined Meredith Psychological and Testing Services in 2019. As a Master’s Limited Psychologist in the state of Michigan, I receive ongoing supervision from a fully licensed psychologist, Julie Meredith Davis, Ph.D., LP.
